I didn't remember that your family was in the documentary. But I do remember your columns in the Japan Times and your photo from those days.

My intention was not to emphasize discrimination against foreigners. Actually white people were often treated better than Japanese in terms of salaries and desirability but there were boundaries even in Tokyo. I have had a harder time in the US being part of the mass than in Japan where I felt the images of whites, especially Americans, were usually positive.
